What’s one element of your daily routine?
First thing I do when I wake up is to remind myself that I am this microscopic part of the Universe and that, in the larger scheme of things, whether I succeed or fail in whatever I am trying to achieve that day makes no difference at all.
What’s the first CD you bought for yourself? (music?)
I think it was The Eminem Show. I had just found out about Eminem through MTV, which I was obsessed with when I was a teenager.
Who’s your hometown hero?
My friends Jorge Jimenez and Miguel Rodriguez. They got me into so many musicians, filmmakers and artists. Coolest people I know.
Who was your high school celeb crush/hero?
I was really into emo people on the internet.
Favourite childhood fad/trend?
What was your favourite pre-social-media activity?
I was on a metal band when I was 16, with my then boyfriend. Happy days!
Most cherished trinket that you have kept over the years?
I have a dead bee by my window, on a tiny glass dish.
Which late musician do you wish you could’ve seen live?
Dimebag Darrell, Ian Curtis, Mayhem (with Dead)
Funniest rumour said about you?
That I am male.
What is one little known fact about you?
That I am male.
Cartoon that you grew up with?
Ren and Stimpy, Courage The Cowardly Dog, Cartoon Network stuff.
What movie/song can you recite word for word?
You know, I sure do like a girl with nice tits like yours who talks tough and looks like she can fuck like a bunny. Do you fuck like that, huh? You fuck like a bunny? Cause if you do, I'll fuck you good. Like a big old jackrabbit bunny, jump all around that hole. Bobby Peru don't come up for air.
Best advice you’ve ever been given?
I am not sure if this counts as advice but every time I had been on a shoot with my friend Nick he would ask me if I was having fun. I somehow tend to ask this to myself when I am shooting, to remind me how much I love making films, even if I am in the midst of chaos and panic.
